The first R.energy tradefair and international summit on renewable energies in Buenos Aires
Barcelona, Spain – The first edition of R.energy Argentina, a comprehensive tradefair and congress targeted at the renewable energies production and energy saving sector is set to be held in Buenos Aires from October 22nd – 24th. The event has the support of the Argentinean government, renewable energy associations and agricultural and scientific communities, according to André Baken, the general director of renewable energies for SURVEY, the German tradefair organiser company that is responsible for organising the R.energy trade show. The EXPO will include the 4th international summit on sustainable biofuels.
Argentina is only beginning to develop a renewable energies sector yet it is destined to become a world leader in the field. The country is seeking investors and renewable energy technologies to take advantage of its low cost agricultural producer status. "President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner has given top priority to the development of renewable energies" states Miguel Almada, director of biofuels development for the Argentinean government. "We have all the necessary resources to become leaders in biomass, biofuels as well as wind and hydraulic energy production. We are especially pleased that such a highly reputed German tradefair company as SURVEY has opted to organise this event in Buenos Aires and we are convinced that its image and professionalism will draw the attention of key international financial and industrial stakeholders towards Argentina, and that's precisely what we need to get the industry to a flying start."Product categories
Given Argentina's competitive edge in biofuels and biomass production, this field will receive special attention at the event. That's why, SURVEY is organising the 4th edition of the international SUMMIT on sustainable biofuels in Buenos Aires, to coincide with R.energy. "The 3-day SUMMIT will be focussing on the biofuels sector in South America and development and investment prospects in coming years with particular emphasis on Mercosur countries”, commented Mr. Baken.
The annual R.energy international tradefair is also highlighting other renewable energies such as wind power (both conventional and offshore, especially considering the immense opportunities open to Argentina in Patagonia), solar energy (thermal, photovoltaic and thermo-electric), wave and tidal power, geothermal energy and hydrogen, waste-to-fuel, cogeneration and hydroelectric. This of course also includes all the production and processing, the supply chain, logistics, transport, basic services, facilities and construction, R+D as well as financial services.
Local Organisation
Secretarial Office of the Trade Show as well as the Biofuels Summit will be in the hands of Dra. Betina Anzillutti, manager and owner of Noun Events, Santa Fé. Responsible Project Management is in the hands of Mr. Carlos St. James, Buenos Aires, who’s also the President of the Argentinean Chamber of Renewable Energy.
